Jane Krakowski adapts ‘Pal Joey’ song for generation tweet

The song ‘Zip’ from the classic Broadway musical ‘Pal Joey’ has been performed by such actresses as Elaine Stritch and Martha Plimpton on Broadway and a dubbed Rita Hayworth in the 1957 movie version.
Now actress Jane Krakowski has created her own rendition of the name-dropping comic song -- although it is unlike anything that has come before. The ’30 Rock’ actress’ version of the number is called ‘Tweet’ and uses the music by Richard Rodgers but updates Lorenz Hart’s lyrics for today’s Twitter-obsessed generation.
‘Tweet’ can be heard on Krakowski’s recent album ‘The Laziest Gal in Town,’ recorded during a a concert at Feinstein’s in New York.
Krakowski won a featured-actress Tony Award for her performance in the 2003 revival of the musical ‘Nine.’ Her singing chops have been amply showcased on NBC’s ’30 Rock’ and Fox’s ‘Ally McBeal.’
