Critic’s Notebook: Tony Award nominations attempt to sort out a baffling season

The Tony nominations were announced today. (Does that constitute a holiday on ‘Glee’?) You can read about the nominations here and find my critic’s notebook here, but I’m curious to hear who you think got the shaft and who you’re especially happy didn’t get overlooked.
My shaft vote would be for Rajiv Joseph, whose “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” didn’t make the best play cut. But I have a strange feeling that some of you out there might be a bit more steamed about Daniel Radcliffe.
On the positive side, I’m thrilled that Laura Benanti’s hilarious featured performance in ‘Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown,’ which closed early, wasn’t forgotten. Benanti’s costar, the implacable and irresistible Patti LuPone, was also nominated — a relief to her legion of hardcore fans and a deserved nod for the canny veteran.
