Long Beach Poly’s Jeffrey Johnson has a chiropractor.
It’s Ken Iwaki, one of four team doctors for the Jackrabbits and a licensed chiropractor.
Johnson, who tweaked his neck early in the 2006 football season, now seeks Iwaki for spinal adjustments before every game.
‘That’s the only time I do it,’ Johnson said. ‘It loosens you up, makes you feel better.’
Poly needed more adjustments than Iwaki could provide during its 20-7 loss Friday at Birmingham.
The Jackrabbits were left shaking their heads. Me, too, and I did so while speaking to Poly Coach Raul Lara after the game.
‘You guys didn’t look good. I’m a little stunned,’ I said.
‘You think you are,’ he said, with a wan smile. ‘So was I. But we’ve been through this before. We’re just going to have to go back to work.’
