Even though Fairfax lost to Dominguez the first time the teams played in December, Lions center Renardo Sidney had a pretty good game -- 22 points and 16 rebounds.
This time the stakes are higher. The winner moves on to Saturday’s Southern California Regionals Division I final at 8 p.m. at the Sports Arena. The loser is out of the playoffs.
Sidney, at 6-foot-10, is literally Fairfax’s biggest threat.
But Dominguez Coach Russell Otis said before tonight’s/Thursday’s game the host Dons had ‘no exotic defense’ for Sidney.
‘We’ll go man-to-man, and I’ll probably start Jordan Hamilton on (Sidney),’ Otis said.
