Long beach Poly is in a battle in its Southern California Regional Division I semifinal at home. The top-seeded Jackrabbits hold a 43-36 halftime lead over Miller.
The visiting Rebels led after the first quarter, 20-16.
I figured Poly’s physical maturity would play a role in the outcome, and its two posts have combined for 29 points -- Jasmine Dixon has 14, and Monique Oliver has 15.
The smaller, younger Rebels are led by Briana Hall’s 13 points and Lola Wells’ nine -- all in the second quarter.
Miller has its work cut out in the second half, when Poly’s size and depth should really wear on the Rebels.
