Girls’ golf: N.H.’s Petchakan wins City title

Monica Petchakan of North Hollywood got a par on the second playoff hole to edge T.J. Kliebphipat of Van Nuys and win her second consecutive City Section girls’ individual golf championship Monday at Balboa Golf Course.

Both golfers finished regulation tied after rounds of one-under par 73. Both golfers have family from Thailand. Both are good friends and have battled it out in the City final. Two years ago, Kliebphipat won the City title. Then last season, it was Petchakan.

The team title went to Van Nuys by three strokes over North Hollywood.
