Football: Marmonte League drama

There’s a meeting of Marmonte League principals on Tuesday, and the question is will they have a series of coin flips in case there’s a three-way tie for first place in football after Friday’s games? And will they keep the coin flips secret until after Friday’s games?

A three-way tie is expected among Westlake Village Westlake (8-1, 7-1), Ventura St. Bonaventure (8-1, 7-1) and Westlake Village Oaks Christian (6-2, 7-1).

The league must submit to the Southern Section this weekend its league playoff representatives. The playoff pairings will be announced on Sunday.

Whatever happens, expect two of the three first-place teams to meet in the Northern Division semifinals, and the third school will probably get to meet the semifinal winner in the final.
