Boys’ basketball: El Camino Real routs Birmingham

Woodland Hills El Camino Real left little doubt it’s the second-best team in the West Valley League behind Taft after routing Birmingham, 63-45.
Michael Thomas scored 19 points and Julian Richardson had 13.
Taft (15-3, 3-0) stayed unbeaten in the West Valley League with a 74-52 win over Reseda Cleveland. Brandon Perry scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds. Anthony January added 18 points.
In the Valley Mission League, Kennedy (13-7, 5-0) defeated Canoga Park, 73-25. Shayan Abarghoei had 14 points.
In the East Valley League, Grant had five starters in double figures in a 75-50 win over Sun Valley Poly. Travis Wilson led the way with 18 points.
In the Coliseum League, Crenshaw defeated Fremont, 74-35. In the Western League, Fairfax defeated LACES, 80-55. Reggie Theus Jr. had 13 points. In the Marine League, Washington defeated Banning, 110-61.
