There are three former Encino Crespi baseball players on the roster for Stony Brook, which earned an automatic NCAA berth by winning the America East championship.
Tyler Johnson is 9-1 with a 1.78 ERA. He’s the pitcher of the year in the America East. Joshua Mason is batting .300 in 13 games. Michael Hubbard is batting .200 in 21 games.
Stony Brook will open the NCAA tournament against Miami. Its No. 2 starter, Brandon McNitt, is from La Puente Bishop Amat.
