Girls’ basketball: Bishop Amat has halftime lead

It’s halftime inside the Anaheim Convention where Bishop Amat holds a 25-18 lead over Canyon Springs in the Southern Section Division 1A championship game.

The Lancers capitalized on eight Canyon Springs turnovers to build a 12-point lead, but the Cougars had the edge in the second quarter to stay within striking distance.

Paulina Santana has nine points and Mauriana Clayton has 10 rebounds for Bishop Amat. Cheyenne Greenhouse has nine points and Charnea Johnson Chapman has 10 rebounds for Canyon Springs.
