Frankie Laine OK Following Bypass

SAN DIEGO — Frankie Laine, the popular singer of the 1940s and 1950s, was in stable condition Friday after undergoing quadruple arterial heart-lung bypass surgery at Mercy Hospital here, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Laine, who still performs regularly at age 71, entered the hospital Wednesday complaining of chest pains.
