SCREENPLAYS WIN OSCAR NOMINATIONS

Among the Academy Award nominees for best screenplay written directly for the screen are those responsible for the stories of “Beverly Hills Cop” and “Splash.”
Danilo Bach and Daniel Petrie Jr. wrote the story for “Cop,” for which Petrie received a screenplay nomination. “Splash” is based on a screen story by Bruce Jay Friedman and a story by Brian Grazer. Friedman, Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel were nominated for the screenplay.
