Dutch Unemployment Increases in January

THE HAGUE — The Dutch unemployment rate in January was up for the first time in five months, the Social Affairs Ministry here announced.
By the end of last month, 780,300 people were out of work, 3,400 more than in the preceding month, according to preliminary figures released by the ministry. About 17% of the Dutch work force is now unemployed.
