At the Dodger training camp in Vero Beach, Fla., Peter Ueberroth, baseball’s new commissioner, is scheduled to be in attendance Saturday when the Dodgers play the Samsung Lions, the Korean professional team that is training in Dodgertown for two weeks. Ueberroth will have a press conference after the game.
With the deadline for contract renewal coming up Sunday, Dodger Vice President Al Campanis plans to talk again today with Robert Fraley, the Orlando-based attorney who represents Orel Hershiser and Dave Anderson. They are the Dodgers’ only unsigned players.
Bob Welch threw batting practice for 15 minutes Monday and reported no problems. Catcher Steve Yeager worked for 10 minutes behind the plate.
