Preps SPRING SPORTS HIGHTLIGHTS : Highland Hall’s Ford Drives in Six Runs in 20-Run Third

Ben Ford drove in six runs in one inning as Highland Hall scored 20 runs in the third inning on the way to a 27-2 rout at Clearview High Friday afternoon.
Ford had a three-run double early in the inning then came back later and had a three-run triple. Jack Rosen drove in three with a bases-loaded double while Rickie Lefitz had a two-run homer in the frame.
There were 20 runs, 14 hits, 6 walks and 6 errors in the inning as Clearview used three pitchers to try and stop Highland Hall, now 3-0 for the season.
Scott McRea also had six RBIs in the game with a grand slam and a two-run triple. Rosen also added a solo homer to drive in four for the game.
Montclair Prep 11, Mar. Fund. 3
Reggie Smith hit his fourth homer in four games this season as he went 4 for 5 and drove in three runs in Montclair Prep’s romp.
The junior center fielder had a solo homer and is currently batting .572 for the season. Montclair Prep is 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Alpha League.
Harvard 5, Faith Baptist 3
A two-home-run performance by Dan O’Leary highlighted the win as Harvard improved its record to 6-1 for the season. Merritt Robinson struck out nine in raising his record to 3-0.
