‘County to Bar Noisiest Private Jets’

In response to your article “County to Bar Noisiest Private Jets” (March 6), your reporter received some incorrect information.
The story cites The Koll Co. as an operator of a “noisy private jet.” In fact, the Koll Co. has operated a Federal Air Regulation noise compliant Gates Learjet 35A since July, 1983. The airplane has a takeoff noise measurement (83.9EPNdb) well under the noise level adopted by the Board of Supervisors for private planes.
Regardless of the type aircraft operated by The Koll Co., every takeoff and landing conducted at noise sensitive airports is accomplished with consideration to the community.
