COPENHAGEN — Demonstrators using sentry boxes as battering rams stormed the doors of Parliament today to protest government plans to settle an eight-day-old strike involving hundreds of thousands of workers.
The demonstrators broke windows, threw bottles and kicked policemen after breaking away from a demonstration nearby and invading a yard at the side of the Parliament building. Police in riot gear drew clubs to keep order and arrested 15 people.
