Shots fired from a passing car killed one man and wounded two others early Sunday morning, Santa Ana police said.
Lt. Bob Jordan said five or six shots were fired from a handgun as the car passed a group of four or five young men standing outside in the 600 block of North Figueroa Street about 2:20 a.m.
Paul Flores, 26, of Santa Ana was wounded in the head and was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he died two hours later, Jordan said.
Two in Stable Condition
Edward Flores, 21, of Santa Ana was shot in the neck, and Felipe Lopez, 21, of Santa Ana was shot in the chest, Jordan said. Both were taken to Fountain Valley Community Hospital trauma center, where they were in stable condition. Jordan did not know whether the two Floreses were related, but said they shared the same address.
Jordan said the car sped off after the shooting, and police have no description of it.
The investigation was continuing Sunday. Police knew no motive for the shooting, and there was no indication that the shooting was gang related, Jordan said.
