Bands of youths attacked other young people inside the Great America amusement park at Santa Clara, injuring nine. One Santa Clara policeman also was reported assaulted, but was unhurt. One person was arrested. Police Capt. Harry Burns said about 18,000 patrons were in the park, but he could not say what prompted the attacks. Most of the injuries were cuts and bruises, a park spokesman said. Similar violence occurred at the park last Halloween on a larger scale, police said.
