An open house to discuss the proposed installation of sound walls on the San Diego Freeway in Long Beach will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the cafeteria at Tincher Elementary School, 1701 Petaluma Ave.
The noise-elimination walls are proposed for the southbound San Diego Freeway between Stearns and Atherton streets and portions of the northbound freeway from its connector with the San Gabriel River Freeway to Stearns.
Caltrans staff members will be present to answer questions about the proposed project and receive comments on the placement and appearance of the walls.
Information may be obtained by calling Caltrans Community Relations at 620-3550.
