SAN DIEGO — Edward Kennedy Jr., who lost his right leg to cancer at the age of 12, has picked out a new artificial leg made of wood stained the same color as the deck of the family yacht, one of the device’s designers said.
Kennedy, the 23-year-old son of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), was in San Diego today for final fittings on the device. “He liked it so much he had us stain it the same color as the teak on the family yacht,” said designer Tom Guth.
