USFL Backers Find Downey ‘Unfunny’

Congratulations, L.A. Times, for another season of unbiased reporting on the USFL. Your Mike Downey has his negative article placed conspicuously on Sunday’s front page while those of us who cared had to turn to Page 14 or so to read five paragraphs on the league’s championship game.

I seriously doubt that cheap-shot artist Downey has been to more than one or two USFL games, but he writes as if he is an authority. Thank goodness for the wire services, which seemed to be your paper’s main source of information, even for Express games played at the Coliseum. Keep up the good work!
