An estimated 30,000 people turned out for the Mayor’s Cup Bicycle Race on Monday in the city’s business triangle.
Tom Schulyer of Downers Grove, Ill., beat 100 other competitors in the 28-mile men’s race. Becky Davis of Lavalette, N. J., won the 15- mile women’s race, in which 50 cyclists participated.
Schulyer and Davis are leading in the 18-city series of races that began in Florida in June under the sponsorship of the Nabisco Co. The finals will be held in Boston next week.
