Times Mirror will try to sell some assets in Oregon.

The media company, which publishes The Times, said its Publishers Paper Co. subsidiary will try to sell sawmills in Molalla, Tillamook, Toleda and Clackamas, as well as its particle-board mills at Sweet Home and Philomath. The company also reported that it is continuing to explore options regarding its 272,000 acres of timberland but reaffirmed that it wants to continue production of newsprint. The moves are part of Times Mirror’s long-term strategy of concentrating on its principal areas of business.
