Security Pacific sold a securities brokerage.

The Los Angeles-based banking firm said it sold RMJ Securities, a 250-employee broker of U.S. government securities, to Bank of New York and an RMJ management group for an undisclosed price. The sale is part of Security Pacific’s plan to become a primary dealer of government securities, under which it will buy securities directly from the Treasury for further distribution.
