Oceanside Mayor Larry Bagley got a raise Wednesday. Agreeing that the city’s top representative is required to make numerous speeches and appear at other time-consuming affairs, the City Council voted to increase Bagley’s monthly salary by $100.
Last month, the mayor and council members raised their pay from $395.39 to $600 per month--the first such increase since July, 1982. The mayor’s pay was raised last month to $650 per month. Now it will be $750 per month.
Bagley and his council colleagues also receive $600 a month for sitting on the Community Development Commission and are paid a varying amount as directors of the Oceanside Small Craft Harbor District.
