La Habra Tests Saddleback in Unbeaten Match
- Share via
Two unbeaten teams led by big running backs are paired tonight at 7:30 at Santa Ana Stadium when Saddleback High hosts La Habra in a featured nonleague matchup.
The teams, both 2-0, are similar in that each has an aggressive defense and a power runner on offense.
For Saddleback, fullback Glenn Campbell averages 7.3 yards per carry and gains most of his yards between the tackles. Quarterback Myron Butler, a converted wide receiver, also gives the Roadrunners an outside running threat.
La Habra counters with tailback Chuck Weatherspoon, a punishing runner with both speed and power who has already scored four touchdowns, including a 56-yard jaunt against California last week.
In other nonleague games, El Modena meets Pacifica at Bolsa Grande, Troy meets Anaheim at Glover Stadium, Big Bear meets Trabuco Hills at Mission Viejo, and Laguna Hills meets University at Irvine.
