A man claiming to be armed approached a woman motorist in La Habra and ordered her to drive him to another location, police reported. When the unidentified woman refused to leave the parking lot of a shopping center near Beach and La Habra boulevards, the suspect fled to a nearby resedential neighborhood, where he was arrested by La Habra police officers, according to Lt. Wayne Lowry. Officers identified the suspect as John Elias Martinez, 29, of La Habra, and said he was being held on $50,000 bail on charges of attempted kidnaping.
