Shopping Center Slates Late October Opening

The major tenant of the $14-million, 180,000-square foot Mountain Vista Plaza shopping center, a 112,000-square-foot Gemco store, and 41,000 square feet of smaller stores will open Oct. 28 on Huntington Drive between the Mountain Avenue and Buena Vista Street exits from the Foothill (210) Freeway in Duarte.
The owners are Piken-Duarte Partnership and Johnson-Duarte Partners, with the cooperation of the Duarte Redevelopment Agency and Security Pacific National Bank. The architect is Charles Kober Associates, the general contractor is Hinnewinkle Construction Co.
