India Truck Crushes 18

NEW DELHI — A truck loaded with stones overturned Saturday in eastern India, crushing 18 people to death and injuring five, the United News of India reported. The news agency said the accident occurred in West Bengal State, about 800 miles southeast of New Delhi. All the victims were pedestrians.
