Ryszard Marczak, a Polish Olympic runner, won the 15th annual Jersey Shore Marathon, while Agnes Ruane of Prospect, Conn., came in first among the women for the third straight year at Asbury Park, N.J.
Marczak, who ran for Poland in the 1980 Olympic Games, finished in 2:27:10. He took the lead at the 20-mile mark and went on to win by nearly three quarters of a mile.
Ruane won in 2:57:30.
