To help Whittier residents get around town during the holiday season, the city has decided to extend bus service to Sundays. Currently, Whittier Transit, the city-run bus line, operates Monday through Saturday. But beginning Sunday, Dec. 1, and lasting through the end of the month, buses will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Sunday. Fares will remain 25 cents. There will be no bus service, however, on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.
