Women’s Basketball Roundup : Waikle Scores 30, but Saddleback Loses to Riverside

Connie Waikle, a 6-foot 9-inch sophomore center from Villa Park High School, scored 30 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in Saddleback College’s 78-63 nonconference loss to Riverside City Wednesday night.

Riverside City remained unbeaten at 7-0.

Saddleback suffered its first defeat of the season and is 2-1.

In other nonconference action:

Cypress 79, San Diego City 46--Janet Jenson and Cheryl Hoffman combined for 43 points to lead the Chargers past San Diego City. Jenson finished with 22 points and Hoffman had 21. Kristal Long added 15 points for Cypress, now 2-1.
