California Amplifier Posts Loss

California Amplifier, citing weak prices for its products, said it lost $574,000, or 17 cents a share, in the third quarter ended Nov. 30. The company earned $63,000, or 2 cents a share, in the third quarter a year earlier.
The Camarillo-based company said it expects more losses in the fourth quarter.
California Amplifier, which makes components used in satellite dish systems, said sales in the quarter were $4.1 million, 15% lower than a year earlier.
For the first nine months of its fiscal year, the company lost $1.1 million, or 31 cents a share, down from a profit of $787,000, or 22 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. Sales fell 29% to $11.2 million.
