Archive Corp. of Costa Mesa, which manufactures computer tape drives that record information on cartridges, said it has signed a two-year contract worth an estimated $5.9 million with Philips Data Systems. The agreement calls for Archive to provide two kinds of tape drives for three Phillips computer systems. The contract continues a three-year relationship between the two, said M. Thomas Makmann, vice president of marketing for Archive.
