Harvey Ferguson, the former president of Valencia Bank, which state and federal regulators declared insolvent and closed Feb. 7, has been hired as president and chief executive officer of Orange-based California City Bank and its holding company, California City Bancorp.
Ferguson replaces Robert D. Hoyt, vice chairman of the bank and the holding company, who had been the interim president since Richard Cordova resigned in a disagreement with the board last September.
Hoyt also has hired two other Valencia executives, Walter Rohm, who was hired in October as loan administrator, and Gene Janosko, who came earlier this year as vice president and loan officer.
