The computer store at the University of California, Berkeley, was shut down by about 50 students protesting South Africa’s apartheid policies. The store sells computers made by International Business Machines Corp., which sells its computers to the South African government. No arrests were made, but many of the protesters struggled when officers took them out of the building, campus Police Chief Derry Bowels said. Bowels said four officers removed the students and then locked the door shortly after noon. The store will continue to offer IBM products, Assistant Chancellor John Cummins said.
