San Marino : Language Petition Dropped
A young San Marino resident has dropped his quest to make English the city’s official language. Kevin Forbes, 19, began petitioning in March for a ballot measure after the City Council rejected his proposal at a stormy meeting. Forbes said he changed plans because he hopes a statewide drive has qualified the issue for the November ballot.
Forbes said he collected 500 signatures on an initiative petition that needed 900 by June 9 to qualify for the November ballot.
