Sun Valley Man Hit by Car, Dies

A 70-year-old man was struck and killed by a car Thursday as he attempted to cross a Sun Valley street outside the crosswalk, police said.
Sergio Sarausad of Sun Valley was pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, where he was taken by ambulance after the 4 p.m. accident, Officer Bill Mulvihill said.
Sarausad was walking north across Roscoe Boulevard west of Canterbury Avenue when he was hit by a car driven by Kyle Kaiser, 29, of Van Nuys, Mulvihill said. Kaiser was not cited, police said.
