Fluor Unit Wins Contract for Australian Project

A unit of the Fluor Corp. has been awarded a contract to help manage construction and design of a South Australian mining and refining project.
Value of the construction work to be performed under the contract with Fluor Australia Pty. Ltd., a division of the Fluor Daniel International subsidiary of Irvine-based Fluor Corp., is $200 million. Total value of the construction project for Olympic Dam, a group of copper, gold and uranium metallurgical plants and a copper refinery, will be $340 million. The project is scheduled to be finished July 1988. The contract was awarded by Roxby Management Services Pty. Ltd., a project manager on behalf of project partners, Western Mining Corp. Holdings Ltd. and the BP Group of Companies.
