A drag boat racer was killed when he was thrown from his craft while traveling about 200 m.p.h. at the West Coast Boat Drag Races in Berenda Reservoir east of Chowchilla, Calif.
Dave Nolte, 38, of Fresno had just finished a run when his boat shot into the air Sunday.
Nolte was flown by helicopter to Valley Medical Center in Fresno but was dead on arrival.
