An Anaheim officer who stopped a sports car in an Anaheim shopping center because it had no windshield discovered 2.2 pounds of the drug, methamphetamine, commonly know as “speed” hidden in the car, Anaheim police Lt. Jack Parra said. He estimated the drug’s value at $75,000. The couple who were in the car were booked for investigation of sale of the drug and held in lieu of $100,000 bail at Anaheim City Jail. They were identified as James Maupin, 26, of Redlands and Ginger Marie Kempster, 23, of Loma Linda. Officers had intended only to book the pair on traffic violations until they found the drug, Parra said.
