Fire burned 65 acres of brush near Dehesa and Sloan Canyon roads Thursday afternoon, forestry officials said.
Fifteen engines--10 from the California Department of Forestry and five from the U.S. Forestry Department--and 135 firefighters battled the blaze in the steep and rocky terrain before it was contained two hours later.
No homes were jeopardized.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
