An unidentified Mexican citizen was killed when his car overturned Thursday morning on Interstate 5 near Birmingham Drive in Cardiff, according to California Highway Patrol officials.
The man, in his 20s, lost control of his car about 1:40 a.m., officials said. The car then flipped and landed on its roof, pinning him in the wreckage.
The man suffered major head and neck injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his seat belt, a CHP spokeswoman said. The victim’s name was being withheld until his family could be notified.
