At Least, Pettis Didn’t Steal First First

I’ll be darned if I didn’t miss something that I’ve waited to see all my life. In his report of the July 29 game between the Angels and Oakland A’s, Gene Wojciechowski reported: “The inning ended shortly thereafter, but not before Pettis had stolen first second and then third.” He did not say how Pettis did it, but, perhaps, he was in a hurry to get his story in print.
On second thought, it is possible that Gene intended to report that Pettis stole second first and third second. When the time comes that Pettis steals third first and second second, be sure to put the story on Page 1. Does this have anything to do with “Who’s on First?”
