Free-agent guard Derek Smith was scheduled to be examined by Dr. Tony Daly, the Clippers’ orthopedic surgeon, Friday after signing a $4.7-million, five-year offer sheet with the Sacramento Kings Thursday.
However, Clipper President Alan Rothenberg said that Smith did not show up for his appointment. Smith was not available for comment.
The Clippers have said they won’t make a decision on whether to match Smith’s offer sheet until they receive his medical reports.
