Mission Viejo Dominates Fallbrook Tennis Titles

Four Mission Viejo players came away winners Friday in the first Fallbrook Junior Tennis Tournament at Fallbrook.
Jamil Atcha of Mission Viejo beat Carlos Bustos of Irvine, 6-3, 6-4, to win the boys’ 18 division, and Linda Allred of Rancho Sante Fe defeated Kaliko Yandall of Chula Vista, 6-4, 6-4, in the finals of the girls’ 18 event.
In other finals, Vicki Cordova of Mission Viejo beat Ali Yoshimoto of Monterey Park, 6-3, 6-2, to win the girls’ 16 division, and Robert Grant of Corona defeated Ricardo Reyes of San Ysidro, 6-2, 6-1, in the boys’ 16 division.
Michelle Foster of Mission Viejo won the girls’ 14 event, 6-4, 7-6, over Juliana Manion of Corona Del Mar, and German Aragon of San Diego beat Suarez Hernandez of San Ysidro, 6-2, 6-0, in the finals of the boys’ 14.
In the girls’ 12 division, Janet Slynasky of Mission Viejo beat Tina Rene of La Costa, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. In the boys’ 12 division final, Alex Reyes of San Ysidro defeated Ronnie Grant of Corona, 6-1, 6-0.
