Los Angeles Recreation and Parks commissioners have chosen a three-member panel to hear the case of fired Los Angeles Zoo Director Dr. Warren Thomas. Thomas, who won a court order for the hearing, was ousted abruptly last June by his bosses, who claimed that they had lost confidence in his ability to manage one of the nation’s major zoos. The panel members are Jack Privett, a retired advertising executive; Reva Tooley, a former member of the city Police Commission, and James Vernon, an attorney and diamond wholesaler. No meeting schedule has been set.
