U.S., Soviets Gain Final in Women’s Basketball

Forward Katrina McCain scored 24 points to lead the United States into the final of the 10th women’s World Basketball Championships with an 82-59 semifinal win over Canada at Moscow.
The United States will face the Soviet Union Sunday in the championship game. The Soviets defeated Czechoslovakia, 78-67, in the other semifinal.
The U.S. women beat the Soviets by 23 points last month in the final of the Goodwill Games.
