OFF THE CUFFS

New World Pictures seems to have found a new way to avoid negative advance press for their women-behind-bars spoof, “Reform School Girls.”
Rather than refusing to screen the film for the industry--an increasingly prevalent practice in today’s film community--New World issued handcuffs (OK, so they’re plastic handcuffs) with their invitations. Upon arrival to the theater, the company bluffs, “You will be handcuffed to the person nearest you, so you will find it impossible to write a review of the film.”
The cuffs, the invite continues, are mandatory for admission. A strip search (for bubble gum, hair spray and other bad-girl essentials) is optional.
